The eleventh meeting of the International Organization of Plant Biosystematists ( IOPB) will be held in India at Aurangabad (M.S.) on 02-04 September 2010. The conference will be devoted to the evolution of plants from tropical to high mountain ecosystems, with particular focus on Asia. However, presentations on plant evolution from tropical to high mountain ecosystems from other parts of the world will also be welcome. The range or research presented will include more traditional approaches as well as most recent developments in biosystematics, evolutionary biology, phylogenetics, phylogeography, and ecology. Following the meeting, there will be a few excursions to the dry deciduous and evergreen forests of Western Ghats, India. The IOPB holds regular meetings. The previous meeting was held in the Vysoke Tatry Mountains (Slovakia) in July 2008 and the meeting in 2013 will be held in New Zealand. These meetings are an excellent opportunity to share newest research results, to become aware of the most recent developments in the study of evolution of plants, and to interact with the biosystematic community worldwide.
