Thank you very much Subhasis ji for validating this ID.
I went by the general knowledge that the extensively cultivated *Rubus* for
its edible fruits is *R. niveus*. The fact must be incorrect OR there could
be more than one species of *Rubus* that is cultivated. Will wait for your
confirmation.
