used in curriesand in the preparation of papads. Juice prescribed in scurvy.
Powdered root used for fractures. Stems and roots yield stron fiber. Hindi:
Handjora. Bengal: Hansjora. Mar: Chaudhuri. Tel: Nalleru. Tamil: Pirandai.
Kan: mangaroli.
