Thank you Dr. Gurcharan ji for this interesting information. I just had a look at the pic in 'Trees of Delhi'. Your information abouts bats also explains the less visibility of fruits in Mumbai. The fruits are generally on higher branches and cannot easily be seen amongst the leaves that could also be one of the reasons for being less visible.
