Just now, this was identified as Rubus rosifolius by Gurcharan sir on Facebook. While I was looking for the species earlier (and ultimately gave up due to lack of further clues!), I had disregarded this one because the initial description in FOC said 5-7 leaflets <http://efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=3&taxon_id=242345639>.
