*Cyperus **leucocephalus *and *C. pulchellus *are very similar, difficult
to differentiate unless the specimens are studied. Both were treated
under *Sorostachys
*by earlier workers, but now under *Cyperus. *I think Mr. Surajit Koley is
correct, it is *C. pulchellus, *usually found in Western India.

Attached here related FBI entry of *Sorostachys leucocephalus* (Retz.) Lye
(http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-266001)

One difference I find -

   1. spikelets 10-20 flowered = pulchellus
   <https://plants.jstor.org/compilation/cyperus.pulchellus> Non Retz.
   2. spikelets 8-12 flowered = *leucocephalous* Retz. (ref.
   http://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/4506832#page/296/mode/1up and page
   11 of

http://www.archive.org/stream/mobot31753003566566#page/11/mode/1up/search/cyperus
   )

Please check the specimen as per above key/description.

Thank you

Dear Friends,

This herb was photographed at CBD Belapur hills in July'09.

As per Anil Rajbhar ji, this looks like some Kyllinga sp (most
probably* Kyllinga
brevifolia*) but needs further validation...

Family: Cyperaceae

Regards
Prashant
