Dear Garg Ji and everybody

The fruit certainly looks like Microtropis. Wait until it open or try to
tear the fruit open. Using the key in the hyperlink below one needs to see
the venation prominent below, and the fruit are (very) slightly obovate. I
am not so sure about leaves acute. These are all characters that could look
differently once pressed.

“Leaves acute, nerves distinct on lower surface; capsule oblong

*5. **M. stocks*

Some earlier relevant feedback:

Can this be *Microtropis stocksii* Gamble
<http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fflorakarnataka.ces.iisc.ernet.in%2Fhjcb2%2Fherbsheet.php%3Fid%3D1073%26cat%3D1&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEFDgTcSMM5TUFLBkFKrXbagnKu1w>
or *Microtropis latifolia* Wight ex Lawson
<http://efloraindia.nic.in/efloraindia/taxonList.action?id=4325&type=4>?
Key to the other species can be found here
<http://efloraindia.nic.in/efloraindia/taxonList.action?id=4322&type=3>.-
from Anurag ji.

Leaf shape in the Biotik page
<http://biotik.org/india/species/m/micrlati/micrlati_en.html> seems to
match *Microtropis latifolia* Wight ex Lawson but I am not sure.- from
Anurag ji.

Yes ..., I think you are right in thinking it to be M. latifolia.- from
Tapas ji

Siddarth Jude Machado expressed his doubts about the ID of this plant.
Perhaps it could be another genus entirely. I am at a loss for any further
clues/suggestions.- from Anurag ji.
