Dear "Members of e-flora of India", I am among the newest manager of this largest "Plant Taxonomy" group in India. I will thank Mr. Dinesh Valke for introducing me to this group and also Mr. Garg who thought that I have enough potential to be a manager / moderator of this group. This group is a splendid assemblage of people from India and few from abroad who show dedicated interest in conservation & identification of Indian flora.
During my tenure of association with this group I have tried my level best to participate where ever possible , but it doesn’t hurt me to say that my knowledge is stipulated and I have many things to learn from this group and their member, less to produce from my side. All the members has well established and have dedicated decades for the development of Plant Science. The point that I will like to emphasize over here is that angiospermic plants do comprise a large part of the Indian flora but there are several other plant groups whose presence can never be disagreed. I will personally request all the members of the group to please post photos, articles and identification queries regarding Algae, Fungi, Lichens, Gymnosperms, Pteridophytes as well as Bryophytes. You all make a lot of touring and expeditions while taking photos of angiospermic plant if you come across any members of the above mention plant groups please spend a little time and take few photos of them. This information will not only intensify our knowledge but will also help us to spread the mythical words of conservation and will show depict the richness of Indian flora. I hope all the members will agree with my comments and will make their best efforts to broaden our knowledge about the flora of India. “WHAT YOU CONSERVE IS WHAT YOU EARN” Regards Tanay Bose -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "efloraofindia" group.
