S. cumini has a hypanthium about 2-3 x 2-2.5 mm. Inflorescences are lateral in axils of fallen leaves on older stems or less often terminal or axillary. S. gardneri has a hypanthium about 4 mm long. Inflorescences terminal or axillary. Petioles are shorter generally in S. gardneri, ca. 1 cm. Looking again… the inflorescence does look like it is in the axil of fallen leaves and has relatively long petioles – suggesting S. cumini James *From:* J.M.
