Tapasji,Thanks for the inputs. The saplings were raised in the Forestt Department Nurseries by dibbling seeds in polythene containers containing red earth, sand and manure in the ratio of 1:1:1.....In fact I was the local officer at that point of time.It was the initiative of the Nursery-in-charge who brought the seeds from ??? source.I have to confess that we did not check the source. No particular package of practice was followed for this exotic. It was treated on par with the other species that were raised in the Forest Department Nurseries. It caught our attention because of the phenomenal rate of growth, growing up to 12 ft in an year....or even more...! At that point of time we thought that it was a suitable species to plant by the roadsides.Only later we realized that the tree is very soft and susceptible to damage by wind.I do not think that it is now grown in the nurseries on a regular basis in that part now. regards tspkumar
