I think, this one is *Impatiens chungtienensis* Y.L.Chen (what has been called Impatiens badrinathii on this forum), and not Impatiens thomsonii. The difference between the two is a bit subtle. The straight spur, and not curved, may be the first indicator. But the more noticeable one is that the upper leaves are stem-clasping. Also, the leaves may be almost oblong. A comparison with Gurcharan ji's Impatiens thomsonii images from Kashmir might help: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups#!topic/indiantreepix/zEtBIarBMdA In Gurcharan ji's species, the spur is curved, and the upper leaves may be stalkless, but are not stem-clasping. Also, the leaves are ovate, never tending to oblong. The difference between the flowers of *Impatiens chungtienensis* and *Impatiens thomsonii* is rather subtle. In I. chungtienensis the lower sepal *gradually* narrows into the spur, but in I, thomsonii the lower sepal *abruptly* narrows into the spur. This difference may be noted by looking at the side views of flowers in Dinesh's and Gurcharan ji's species. Cheers! Tabish
