The name would make sense to me if the letter "l" removed.
Kaatavaraikkodi (= wild lablab bean) will transcribe to காட்டவரைக்கொடி

The original name "kaaltavaraikkodi" can be written as கால்தவரைக்கொடி which
I am not sure about.
