Yes this all fist with *Impatiens balsamina*.  'Flowers of Himalaya' say 
widely grown in gardens in Nepal - I have seen it growing along the 
roadside in Pokhara as if an escape from cultivation.

Native of SE Asia.  Nasir in Balsaminaceae of Pakistan says cultivated as 
an ornamental in tropical and sub-tropical regions of India, Pakistan, Sri 
Lanka, Malaya
and China.   Several varieties known with flowers white, orange, pink-red 
or purple.

Known from 1200-1900m in Nepal.
