Thought it would be useful to post this image, taken by Alastair McKelvie,
former Editor of the Scottish Rock Garden Journal during a trek he led in
Sikkim some 20 years ago.

This species is recorded from boggy ground and marshes in alpine pastures
and Rhododendron scrub @ 3200-4260m in Sikkim and Bhutan.

The corolla is typically yellowish-white or purplish usually with a yellow
or orange eye.

Hopefully, any members who get the opportunity to trek in Sikkim (it
flowers May to August)
or Bhutan at the right time of year might secure more and better images
thanks to the wonders
of our digital cameras.

Best Wishes,

Chris Chadwell
