Stewart does not list Rosa canina L. from Kashmir but has Rosa corymbifera Borkh. with Rosa canina var. corymbifera & R.jacquemontii as synoyms - he records this from N.Pakistan and Kashmir incl. Pahlgam & Tangmarg. Given the location where this rose was photographed presumably they are the same?
I have not checked the current thinking. eflora of Pakistan gives R.corymbifera as a synonym of R.canina but mentions no specimens from Kashmir. Both R.corymbifera and R.canina are accepted names in the latest 'The Plant List'. Given the complexities of this genus, one must count ALL identifications as somewhat PROVISIONAL.
