Garg" <[email protected]> I have just noticed that Stewart records Rosa macrophylla as a very common and very variable pink rose in N.Pakistan, Ladakh and Kashmir @ 2100-3600m. I had thought it was NOT recorded from Ladakh. CLEARLY, there has been long-standing confusion between some forms of Rosa webbiana and some forms of R.macrophylla..... Flowers of the Himalaya says "There are many forms of R.macrophylla which are hardly distinguishable from R.webbiana". This NEEDS further study.
