I have not actually checked to see whether I am in agreement as to the suggested identity of this tree but feel it would be informative to say that Stewart considered this to be a native of China which was frequently planted. He knew it from Peshawar and a few other places; Rao recorded it from Srinagar. Only ever passed through Kulu on buses/coaches so cannot comment much but I have seen many different non-native trees planted around Manali.
