Images of what I understand to be Codonopsis clematidea cultivated in a garden in Portland, Oregon. This species is the commonest of the non-climbing Codonopsis in cultivation. It is the most straightforward to grow. The images show the internal markings which are quite unlike those of C.ovata, along with large, reflexed sepals. MANY Codonopsis in cultivation which are labelled as less common species, frequently turn out to be C.clematidea.
