I use a Trimble GEO XH 2005 Series (sub-meter accuracy) for my field work, but
with a $3000+ (US dollars) price tag, it may well be out of reach for
day-to-day use. I am not familiar with Garmin and other car-mounted units.

Regards--
Ken.

Car GPS may not suit for field works sir, i.e. it is more power consuming and
some of it could not save location points.
Many GPS sets are available in the market now, and you just need to work out
unto your budget.
