Dear friends,
Now while I am re-compiling common names of *Ziziphus oenoplia *after some
gap of years*,* to my surprise, the epithet has got "corrected" to
*oenopolia*. The genus name itself has its own records of spelling
variances, and there are some posts in our database that discussed it.

Spelling variances are confusing, obscure etymology makes it difficult.
Please help in knowing what would *oenoplia* OR *oenopolia* mean.

*oinos* = wine OR vine ? and *pleion* = more, many OR plia = spine ?

Regards,
Dinesh
