This is indeed very interesting presentation. The species was described by
Brandis in 1906 from Andhra Pradesh (Chingleput, Cuddapah dist.,
Veligondas). I have not been able to trace out the type materials which
are probably housed in the Hamburgh herbarium (HBG). I have however seen
two old collections by Gamble, viz. 15126 (in fruiting, collected in 1884)
from Cuddapah District and 16363 (in flowering, collected in 1885) also
from the same District. The species is evidently very rare, not known from
outside the Andhra Pradesh so far and it is possibly related to *T. citrina*,
differing in the much shorter broadly obovate to elliptic-oblong leaves,
truncate to emarginate at apex, glaucescent on the undersurface and with
fewer number of lateral veins.

Lalithamba ji, you are requested to bring to light about the recent
collection made by you by presenting an article on the species to enable
the scientific community to know that it is still thriving in small
populations in the type locality.

Thanks and regards,

Tapas.
