Interesting! Studies have shown that nematodes also play a part in the fig
and wasp relationship. Every fig pollinator wasp has its own nematode
parasite and the balance is maintained such that parasite doesn't completely
kill its host or other infected wasps. The parasite needs its host alive to
propagate its progeny [from 'The Secret Life of Trees' by Colin Tudge.
