Thanks, Lalithamba ji.
I know it's a very difficult genera as is evident from discussions in efi
so far.
If you can check posts in efi site and suggest corrections based on your
experience & keys, it will be nice of you.

Gargji thank you,
As far as my observations and after going through many floras I could
differentiate the two by the following characters

Erect herb, often braches from base; leaves alternate, lamina obovate,
obovate-oblong, orbicular; white pubescent below, sometimes pubescence on
upper side also; spikes axillary-solitary or axillary-clustered or terminal
or on small axillary branches; flowers 1mm long, hermaphrodite.----*Aerva
lanata*

Straggling shrub, scarcely branched; (normally internodes very long) leaves
alternate at lower nodes, opposite at upper nodes, lamina ovate-acuminate,
glabrascent; spikes axillary-solitary or axillary –fascicled(2-4 in a
fascicle)flowers 3-4 mm long, unisexual or bisexual--- *Aerva sanguinolenta*

*The *leaves are normally smaller in *A.lanata *than that of A.
*sanguinolenta*
