An erect almost evergreen tree, 20-30 m tall; bark blackish, fissured.
Leaves digitate, petioles 5-8 cm, leaflets 5-7, elliptic, 15-20 cm, shining
green. Flowers 8-10 cm, pinkish mauve with yellow throat, largest of the
genus. Blooming in 2-3 flushes in a year but never abundent and contemporary
with other Tabebuias. Some likely names are Bignonia rio-grande, B.
megapotamica. 3 trees seen at Balgandharva Rangmandir Pune.
