Most probably Phanera vahlii, earlier known by the name Bauhinia vahlii.
I would like to see the image of the plate for further confirmation.
Thanking you,

Hi All,
What is the name of Bauhinia species which was used stitch leaf plate in
Tamil nadu?
I think most of you should know that.
I haven't seen it anywhere till now.
It is not Bauhinia purpurea.
