That is what my Bengali friend also told me, but it is not simple squash plant (true squash is Cucurbita sp., C. maxima also called winter squash, C. moschata the butternut squash or winter crookneck squash; C. pepo the summer crookneck squash) rather Chayote squash, under which name it is sold in American markets. I had uploaded this plant from California last year.
