- Leaves of diverse shape and size, without whitish marginal lines and continuous chlo-renchyma Fruiting branches erect or spreading. Bracteoles erose-dentate to ciliate. Flowers bisexual and female, the bisexual ±drum-shaped. Seeds in bisexual flowers horizontal, in others usually vertical.
