Subject: FROM THE NATURE : SUN'S COLOURS= COLOURS OF FLOWERS
To:
Cc:

Hello,
Prof. A Lalithamba sent me an interesting story describing the
colours of sun. She talks about a tradition in the Southern states , where
7th day of the month Maagha is celebrated as Ratha Saptami ( Birth day of
sun ).On this occasion in Andhra a traditional Telugu song is sung by
women, in which sun's colours at different time of the day are equated with
colours of different flowers.I arranged a collage of the flowers( mentioned
in the song ) along with an image of sun.
The original song must be quite descriptive. There was time when people
used to be closer to nature and their observation power was great. One can
make it out from the description of nature by Valmiku in his Ramayan.
              With regards,
