Thanks Garg ji. I visited the *Ruellia peninsularis* (Rose) I.M. Johnst. <https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a---l/a/acanthaceae/ruellia/ruellia-peninsularis> page. I read through posts listed there as of today. None of them have been concluded confidently.
Image search on internet, gives mixed results - flower images labelled *humilis* as well as *peninsularis* seem to match the posted flower. Also to heighten confusion, searching only through *humilis* OR *peninsularis* do not yield consistent looking flowers. Will wait for comments from garden enthusiasts. Regards.
