To: [email protected] CC: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Hi all, To me also it looks like Artocarpus hirsutus only. The fruits are echinate and not smooth. (About 10-15 cm across in size?) As Vijayadas ji said, the inner pulp (perianth) is very sweet and edible. Its generally reserved by monkeys in the forest. It is a Red Listed medicinal plant by the way. With regards R. Vijayasankar On Wed, May 5, 2010 at 10:21 AM, Parjanya guru <[email protected]> wrote: .. And in Flora of Kolhapurdistrict (p.447) by Dr. S. R. Leaves oblong, rusty tomentose beneath, fruits smooth, seeds globose-- Artocarpus lakoocha Roxb. I hope, rashida's plant matches with the first one, Artocarpus gomezianus Wall. ex Trecul subsp. zeylanicus Jarrett. Lets see for the further discussion...
