To me it is OK and works like The Plant List 2013. I often access the species page by clicking the family in home page and then proceeding to Genus-Species. Search option is more convenient, a short cut, and also help in the case when family is not known or forgotten. It is interesting that Flora of India (wild) have 247 families but our coverage is of 249 families which may be due to adopting recent system of classification (Angiosperm Phylogeny Group Classification- III (as adopted in The Plant List 2013) in which some of the families are splitted. The other reason may be the coverage of cultivated taxa which are often not included in floristic studies. eFI has become a big resource.
