Chakrab. & M.Gangop. distributed in India (Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam and Nagaland), Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and China in subtropical evergreen forests, chiefly in old forest clearings, on landslips and abandoned plantations, beween 600 - 2000 m altitudes.
