one more page that shows foxtail palm seeds <http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk81/Nestbox/Box%20of%20Palm%20Nuts/DSC07185.jpg> The nuts on the left are Foxtail Palm Nuts <http://forums.avianavenue.com/index.php?threads/final-chance-palm-nuts-for-sale-at-introductory-price.15701/>. The dark-skinned nuts come from the Fan Palm tree. The green ones on the right are from the Queen Palm Tree. The Queen Palm nuts will ship green but will ripen into a lovely golden color. They may be given to your birds either green or ripened. We find our birds like them either way.
We find the palm nuts store well in the refrigerator for approximately a week. Others have reported to us that they have frozen theirs for extended storage and thaw them in a cup of hot water before serving.( to brds, is what they mean) On Sun, Aug 26, 2018 at 10:05 AM, Ushadi Micromini < [email protected]> wrote: > Mahadeswara ji > > Thank you > that would make the fruits > <http://www.palmpedia.net/wiki/File:Adonidiafruit.JPG>about 2 to 2.5 > inches long and half that wide? > and infer they are elliptical > <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adonidia_merrillii#/media/File:VeitchiaMerrilliiFruit.jpg> > adonidia sp ? > > ==== > > where as foxtail palm // Wodyetia bifurcata > fruits are round and much larger > <http://www.vendio.com/stores/Polynesian_Produce_Stand/item/yard-garden-outdoor-living-pla/3-live-foxtail-palm-tree-3-see/lid=31928372> > like a small dwarf orange or even a pingpong ball, if you please. > scroll down a bit in the page to halfway....for a spectacular pic.... > > === > > so right now i will stay with adonidia sp ? > > thank you > usha di > > On Sun, Aug 26, 2018 at 8:59 AM, Mahadeswara <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Usha di madam, >> The size of the fruit is around 4 to 5 cms lenght & 2 - 3 cm breadth . >> M.Swamy >> >> On Friday, August 24, 2018 at 9:50:20 AM UTC+5:30, Ushadi wrote: >>> >>> Thank you Mahadeswara ji >>> i thought i had seen mature specimen of this in a nursery that sells >>> palms >>> >>> I am glad it matches >>> >>> Usha di >>> PS >>> no need for ji at the end of my name >>> di is an epithet by itself. >>> >>> Pps do you recall size of the fruits??? >>> >>> >>> ---------- Forwarded message ---------- >>> From: M Swamy <[email protected]> >>> Date: Fri, Aug 24, 2018 at 9:16 AM >>> Subject: Re: [efloraofindia:303217] Re: MS/2018/August/4: ID of the tree >>> at Lalbagh. >>> To: Ushadi micromini <[email protected]> >>> >>> >>> Thanks Ushadi ji.
