Flora of China
<http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=241000169> says
near sea level to 1500 m.
Checklist of Nepal
<http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=110&taxon_id=241000169>
says Himalaya (Nepal, Sikkim), in that case elevation will not be 200-250 m
as mentioned here.
By the way, was it near any habitation ? If so, elevation may not matter.
