loved your pics,  esp pic 2324c...shows the blue fuzzy stamen hairs
there is an apocryphal story that

this plant may be natures geiger indicator
because it seems those stamen hair turn to pink from naturally blue when
exposed to radiation. go figure! if this is t. virginiana.

a side view of the flowers would help .
