Thank you Jagmohan ji. Genus Desmodium and Pycnospora are differentiated on their pods, being jointed or not (distinctly) jointed respectively. The immature fruit seen here does not seem jointed.
Viplav ji mentioned (same thread that has Radha's comment) in his post that D scorpiurus is 'freely rooting at nodes' whereas here there was no rooting at nodes. Will communicate with Radha and ask her to comment on this thread as also my other post labeled Pycnospora .
