The other possibility is Senna didymobotrya, an African native that has 
naturalized in many locations. (I get these two species confused. I do not 
often see S. alata in the USA; it does not grow easily in California, but S. 
didymobotrya naturalizes easily there.) I will defer to local experts here on 
the ID.

river Moyar in Nilgiris.
I think this is a weed.

Inflorescence Type/ Size-  raceme 
Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts-  yellow 
Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds-  pods 20 x 2 cm 
Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.-
