Rashida ji
your all the photos are too beautiful.
i had liked the previous one too which had given the clear details of fruits
which we had stuudied for the seed dispersal in aquatic plants.
This is lotus itself.
i think the lily is smaller version of the flower that there are some small
size , small leaves plants with flowers similar to lotus, but about one forth
size. we get pink, white and blue, violet  colour in them
thanks for all the photos till now i enjoyed them all, but due to too short
time in hand replies are avoided.

Subject: [efloraofindia:35596] Nymphea lotus

Here's the Nymphaea lotus, I think the lily  Madhuri  ji was referring to. This
was seen at Shahpur, Mah., last week of March, '10.  According to Dr. Almeida's
flora there are two species of Nymphaea earlier known as Nymphaea lotus.
Nymphaea pubescens and Nymphaea rubra.N. Pubescens has sepals acute at apex,
not ribbed. N. rubra has sepals obtuse at apex, 5-10 ribbed. Also posting
another Nymphaea sp. separately.

regards,
Rashida.
