i was in delhi sometime earlier. a cook at the five star came up to ask if
i liked food etc
and we got to chatting, during which he volunteered that he was
from himachal pradesh and rhododendrons that they make cough syrup from
were flowering
earlier and its cough remedy powers were less effective.

thats  just one story, one anecdote
 i wonder if anyone has done analysis of the bioactive compounds now
 versus say 10, 20, 30 years ago.
