I think this is  *Mackenziea* *integrifolia* (Dalzell) Bremek. a synonym of 
*Strobilanthes* *perfoliata* T.Anderson

I'm unable to see the leaf texture from your pictures, but the leaf shape 
is matching. This plant does grow in shady places. 
*Karvi* likes open sunny locations, although it can also grow in shade.
