Yes, that's right - typical achlorophyllous fertile shoots and you can see
the single sheath-ridges of arvense rather than E. diffusum.  Those two
species are closely related and arvense seems to be an adaptation of the
aggregate to northern climates.  They may well be best treated as
subspecies.
