Coreopsis, ok

flower indeed has eight petals, yellow, notched . so far so good
but
cont confirm your diagnosis
1: leaves seems larger than what is described ...
also because,
2:  to definitely classify it as you have suggested you need to see the
leaf in its entirety

this variety has this distinguishing feature:
I quote: "  Each leaf has a distinctive pair of small lateral lobes at the
base of the blade which
 resemble the shape of mouse ears, hence the sometimes used common name of
mouse ear coreopsis for this plant"

you see :
*auriculata *refers to ear shape....

please see if you have more pictures of the full leaf....
