Dear friends, ... on what basis are the facts ascertained (that *V. mungo*is *urd* and *V. radiata* is *moong* ) ? The query seems to me idiotic and stupid ... seems like questioning someone's identity ... however logical responses may throw light on the circumstances in which naming was done.
The query in other words: is why would not *V. mungo* be *moong* and *V. radiata* be *urd* ?
