This plant is native to certain northern parts of India I assume, and in rest of India, it is planted as ornamental in gardens. Thus I consider that it may have escaped. I do not think native plants would behave like weeds. I do not know whether my assumption is wrong, Hope someone clarifies. Regards. Dinesh
