---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Gurcharan Singh <[email protected]> Date: 29 May 2010 10:53 Subject: [efloraofindia:36343] Scrophularia himalensis nomenclature To: efloraofindia <[email protected]>, TANAY BOSE < [email protected]> Last year I had photographed the plants of S. himalensis Royle ex Benth very commonly growing in Simla, Kashmir and other hill stations of NW Himalayas and promently mentioned in all older Floras from the region. While checking its status I find that this as well as the closely related species are not mentioned in recent books on Himalayas, nor any website dealing with floristics. Instead S. elatior is prominently mentioned in these books as well as in GRIN and eflora of China as species from Himalayas. Can any member find the link between the two and authentic citation of synonymy for these related species. -- Dr. Gurcharan Singh Retired Associate Professor SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 Res: 932 Anand Kunj, Vikas Puri, New Delhi-110018.
