I think there seems to be lot of confusion in this genus as per Taxonomic Status of Some of the *Tribulus* Species in the Indian Subcontinent <http://www.academia.edu/953634/Taxonomic_Status_of_Some_of_the_Tribulus_Species_in_the_Indian_Subcontinent> by Varghese, M.; Yadav, S.S. & Thomas, J. Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences 13 (1) 7-12: 2006 (*keys).* I have added keys at Tribulus <https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/m---z/z/zygophyllaceae/tribulus> with 7 species being reported from India. Pl. see.
