   I think you are right here. The roots of this plant are a common
vegetable in Manipur. Two books on Manipur plants identified it as*
Sagittaria** sagittifolia*. However, the Flora of China page

on *Sagittaria
trifolia* subsp. *trifolia *says "Most specimens determined as *Sagittaria
sagittifolia* are, in fact, this taxon."
