Plants of the World Online
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:675992-1>
treats it as a synonym. They use a 2015 paper as reference:
 Bedigian, D. (2015). Systematics and evolution in Sesamum (Pedaliaceae),
part 1: evidence regarding the origin of sesame and its closest relatives
Webbia; Raccolta de Scritti Botanici 70: 1-42.
I hope there are later publications treating *Sesamum laciniatum* and *Sesamum
prostratum* as separate.
