You may be right. But the leaves in* Ipomoea cairica* are divided upto the base (appearing as a compound leaf, as it is in the picture) which is not the case in I. digitata. The former sp is a common escape (weed) along roadsides and planted in gardens. Whereas, the latter sp doesn't occurs as weed. Anyway, let's hear from others too. Rashida ji, can you pl provide some more info like local name, use, presence of tuber, occurrence etc? [The tubers of I. digitata, known as 'giant potato' is a popular medicinal plant used as galactagouge in the name of Vidari in Ayurveda. I. cairica is not a medicinal plant as far as i know].
