Pl. see another image and discussions on the same plant at Acanthaceae
Fortnight : Dipteracanthus prostratus : Uttarakhand : 31MAR15 : AK-49
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/indiantreepix/sW5-E6MBH3o>
I checked all species mentioned in *FLOWERING PLANTS OF INDIA,
DICOTYLEDONS, Vol-I (Acanthaceae-Avicenniaceae)* authored by S.
Karthikeyan, M. Sanjappa and S. Moorthy and published by BSI, Kolkata in
2009, as available at Ruellia
<https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a---l/a/acanthaceae/ruellia>,
in GBIF (specimens not available for *Ruellia malabarica *Kostel.
<https://www.gbif.org/species/5573831> and *Ruellia cernua *Roxb.
<https://www.gbif.org/species/8353703>  and *R. sivrajanii* Sreedevi &
Binojk.)
https://www.gbif.org/species/5575211
https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/gallery?taxon_key=5576369

I think *R. ciliatiflora* Hook. looks close as per GBIF
<https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/gallery?taxon_key=5415406>- specimen
<https://api.gbif.org/v1/image/unsafe/http%3A%2F%2F161.111.171.57%2Ffcgi-bin%2Fiipsrv.fcgi%3FFIF%3D%2FCatalogo%2FFanerogamia%2FIMGS_web%2FIMGS_jp2%2FMA-01-00794816.jp2%26WID%3D2200%26QLT%3D40%26CVT%3Djpeg>.

However, Catalogue of Life
<https://www.catalogueoflife.org/col/details/species/id/8c68346940579694fcc28957443ba35b>
and POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:53920-1>
do not give any distribution in India.
